americano with love

Every so often my body says, ‘get the heck out of bed super early and get on that bike….’ Most of the time I don’t listen, but the past few weeks of travel have been taking a tole one me and I realized yesterday on my way back from chicago that what I need most of all is a breath taking ride. I don’t mean to say I need to see the landscape, I need my lungs to explode.

So this morning, put my phone steaming pandora in my back pocket and took off around town. Lungs burning, thighs burning, smile from ear to ear as I bombed the park, road thru road construction and now am sipping a delicious americano from starbucks, made by my lovely wife. (Say what you will about your barista, but mine makes my espresso with love!).

Was able to update foursquare 2x on the ride! All before 6am, that’s a good start to the day.

Maybe I should lidten to my body’s call to get out of bed this early every day!

Outside Magazine blog spot

We are excited…the Cyclelogical Spoke Reflectors are on the Outside Magazine online website today!

thanks to The Gear Junkie for test riding the chop spokes for the past few months and writing a great review. check it out at: Outside Magazine Online

website…finally…on its way!

So in our attempt to provide some great and unique bike gear and bike lifestyle gear, we are updating our website once again. its always a progress of perfection.

one area that we want to increase is our ‘rider profile’ page. we would love a pic of you on or off your bike showing off your Cyclelogical gear. We love hearing the comments from other riders using our products and would love the opportunity to show you off! If you do have a pic(s) that you would like to send us, please email to info@cyclelogicalgear.com.

The second area we are updating is our ’shop/gear’ page. we are updating this to show all our shirts and designs as well as a place to sell wholesale to our many retailers. Please allow us some time on this page to get up to speed and have all the buttons working! www.cyclelogicalgear.com

Side Reflection is a Tough Commodity

The question that many cyclists ask is how they can be more visual to motorists on the road. In too many places that we ride, motorists could care less about bikers…bottles thrown, words yelled, horns honked, too close for comfort…and the list goes on, but sometimes its a matter of being as visual as possible.

So how do we make ourselves ’seen’?

Cat Eyes and Sigma make some great blinkers and lights, but that usually only covers the front and back of the bike (and a law in some states!). i also notice that most bikers take off the reflectors that are put on from the bike shop…i know they look dorky…but then what do you do about side reflection? there are some great tires that have reflection on the sidewalls and from what i hear they work great, but that’s not for everyone.

What do you do then for better visualization and side reflection? check this out…

Pushing The Limits…

this morning i was hit head on with this idea of ‘pushing the limits’. i guess its going to be my mantra for the day. anyway, i found this quote:

“We simply cannot grow by staying in our comfort zone. To grow, we must push our limits. Once the mind has been expanded by a new experience it never goes back to its original size.” - Shamou

i really hate all he self-help books and ’secret’ stuff that is on the market today, not that i think its all bad philosophy, i just think that it often comes down to selfishness just using different words. so, trying not to rant…, i wonder what its like to push the limits of my mind and my sphere of influence. i wonder, what am i capable of?  and whats the point of the capability?

Cyclelogical is about some pretty amazing ideas. i wonder, as we push the limits, how will we affect the landscape of our place in life? our goal isn’t to fill a nitch for a moment, but to create a place that grows to meet people at the core of who they are. Cyclelogical is about life, experience, the journey, breathing deep and pushing the limits of who we are to create a life that individually and together fully embrace.

We Are Cyclelogical.

Cyclelogical on NBC’s Chuck!

Our first shirt in the national spotlight was…lets just say…breathtaking! For being just a few guys, and our wifes, living our dream, creating really cool tees and bags, we were all blown away to see the cyclelogical shirt on the ‘mr. awesome’ character in the 2nd scene.

we’ve been hearing great things from our customers about our product, which has been more than a huge encouragement, but seeing the shirt on TV was a bit like the dream coming true.

my wife and i have been in some deep discussion recently about dreams, what them mean, what they look like and which ones are worth pursuing. it is great to see this dream producing some reality…though small, this was amazing for the whole cyclelogical team!

just downloaded wordpress to blackberry…this could be an adventure

My wife and I had the discussion a few days ago, that since I travel a bit and often see really weird, random, funny and amazing things that I also should tap into our blog…so this just may become an adventure of a lifetime!

I hope maybe by writing and posting this will somehow refine my odd, un-filtered, sarcastic and coffee loving personality.

Just to give a quick snapshot of me…I enjoy biking…commuting around town and mtb, sorry you won’t catch me in spandex on a century! I like good coffee, I’ll take an americano please, I have come to love ameracana, raw denim, which is my new big thing and frequent flyer miles!

Pouring my life into cyclelogical has been one of the biggest expressions of creativity I’ve ever experienced, the journey has just begun, and there are many roads to travel, but its been a moment by moment breath of life.

Look forward to this adventure!
